This ACS package includes Core Domestic Gas Safety (CCN1) and CENWAT for boilers and water heaters. Suitable for both initial assessment and 5-year reassessment. Includes refresher training and assessment, with optional appliance modules available.
The CCN1 & CENWAT course at Vulcana Training is ideal for domestic gas engineers looking to gain or renew their qualifications in core gas safety and central heating appliances. This combined ACS package ensures you meet the industry requirements to work on boilers and water heaters as well as carry out essential gas safety work.
CCN1 is the mandatory foundation module for all domestic gas work, while CENWAT is a required appliance assessment for engineers working with central heating systems and unvented water heaters.
Successful completion of both modules results in renewed or initial ACS certification, allowing Gas Safe registration and legal work on domestic gas systems.
CCN1 – Core Domestic Gas Safety
Covers key elements of gas safety, including:
Legislation and regulations
Tightness testing and purging
Combustion analysis and flueing
Pipework, installation, and fault finding
Dealing with unsafe situations
CENWAT – Boilers & Water Heaters
Covers the installation, commissioning, servicing, and maintenance of:
Gas-fired central heating boilers
Instantaneous and storage water heaters
Flueing and ventilation specific to wet appliances
Both modules include refresher training followed by theory and practical assessments.
If you require additional appliance certifications, the following modules can be added to your CCN1 and CENWAT package:
CKR1 – Domestic cookers
HTR1 – Gas fires and space heaters
DAH1 – Warm air heating
MET1 – Meters
These add-ons broaden your scope of work and can be taken during the same training schedule. Each module includes relevant refresher content and assessment.
